Happy New Year, everyone! We hope you had a relaxing Christmas break and are excited for the new year. 2024 is just around the corner and we can’t wait to get back into the swing of things and see the Intertech gang back again.
What a year 2023 was! At the beginning of the year, we hoped to bring back some of the pre-pandemic magic to Intertech and looking back, we think we did it! In total, we ran 15 events throughout the year, attracting over 1000 attendees. We are so grateful for all of the volunteers who helped make 2023 such a huge success and we are thrilled for what 2024 will bring.
Intertech also faced a number of challenges in 2023.
- Firstly, we discovered that our mailing list and website provider will be decommissioned in Jan 2024. Over December, we have been working hard to set up a parallel system that will keep Intertech going without breaking the bank. In 2024, we will be migrating out website to intertech.lgbt
- Secondly, Eventbrite have increased their prices, which if we continue with them will start putting a lot of financial pressure on Intertech’s finances. Over December, we have also been exploring alternatives to make sure we maintain a slick user experience, again, without breaking the bank. In 2024, we have made the decision to migrate over to OutSavvy
Thank you to everyone in the Intertech team for making 2023 incredible and a huge shoutout to the volunteers who helped with all the migration to our new tools.
